Actions speak louder than words: How to give better feedback
Feedback has been described as one of the most powerful influences on learning, but it can be difficult to know how to deliver feedback to learners in the best way. In this session we will see why feedback is so important, and look at practical ways to improve your feedback techniques, using Cambridge’s integrated learning and assessment (ILA) approach.
A recipe for teacher learning
To be worthwhile, teacher development needs to have an impact on teaching and learning. In this talk we’ll look at the essential ingredients of impactful teacher development activity. If you’re a teacher, you’ll learn how you can make sure that the time you spend on development is productive, and make lasting changes to your classroom practice. If you’re a trainer, you’ll find out what you can do to ensure your training makes a difference once your trainees go back to their classrooms.

Analysing Learner Needs and Allowing this to Inform your Teaching
It is normal for teachers to focus on language and/or skills when planning and teaching lessons. Although this is understandable, it is also important for teachers to take into account their learners’ needs, preferences, and motivations, as this can enable them to plan and teach lessons which are more engaging and effective. This session will examine some of the main factors surrounding these topics as well as suggesting some practical tips with reference to Cambridge coursebooks.
